Dystopian Wars

Empire of the Blazing Sun

2013/02/10

I've recently started collecting Dystopian Wars, by Spartan Games, after having witnessed a game or three at my old club Janco Toys. I've always fancied a naval combat game, this fits the bill.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, Dystopian Wars is a pretty simple to play game, nice easy core mechanics with a detailed layer of 'Model Assigned Rules' laid over the top of it providing the colour the game needs. It helps the models are nice as well.

This Leopard selected Empire of the Blazing Sun, partly because no one else at Jancos had them, partly because I used to work for a Japanese company and like the back story but mostly because I like the models.

Recently I have added a new flag ship to my small fleet, the Kiyohime class assault carrier Akagi.

To date I've only played a few games, mixed results as you expect when learning, but the game is simple enough, enjoyable and not that expensive to play so happy with it here.
