Knights of the Paw!

Introduction to my Bretonnian Army

2012-12-29

My Bretonnian army, the Knights of the Paw, are the result of an ambition first held in the late 1980's when I first started with this crazy addictive game.

I Always wanted a Bretonnian army in the days of 3rd edition, but could never afford one, I never really had a usable army in those dark days of strange clothes and better music. Roll on early 2010, I started with Warhammer 7th again for reasons I'll cover elsewhere, walked into GW Merryhell - Intending to either start Bretonnia or Orcs & Goblisn, they had the O&G book but not the book of the brave, so I ended up with greenies.

A dream of course, never really dies, early in 2011 I was board of painting green, so bought a box of knights, for a change, and the book as I desired to avoid assembling models that would not be usable.

Now at the time my O&G were growing nicely, I was looking at Flames of War, I never intended to actually start an army, and as such assembly went slowly. The result was this guy.

A Warhammer Bretonnian Knight, painted red

Nothing special but I like him, and a nice change really.

Naturally I added just a few more models to this, with a battalion box, assembly was still slow, leading to a few nice models though.

Still not really planning an army as such, at least not yet, until a chance occurrence, a friend was looking to get out of Warhammer, the 8th rules changes etc. I had a half painted 40k Eldar force, we did a swap... I now had a usable army... so started using it...

Odd how these things happen really.
