Unboxing & WiP

2013/09/09

The models arrived last week.

Beautiful models, loads of detail and character, a very definite '+1' to Essex Miniatures for these.

Clean up & Prep

As is my way with 15mm models, they all end up being washed in hot soapy water, rinsed, dried then stuck to sticks for priming and painting, amazing that this is the whole army.

Due to the small size of the force I broke with my normal method of painting two - four sticks at a time and just did the lot.

WiP - Just basing to do

They have turned out pretty well, not sure the colours are authentic but they feel fine to me. Just need to finish the bases with a bit of filler, paint and other such details. As you can see the metal bases used are seriously low profile.

Command Cavalry element.

Command Warband element, Viking models so they stand out a bit.

Psiloi archery elements, bases look very empty with just two models but its a clever way of denoting what each element actually is.

Nine Warband elements, heavy on the facial hair, low on the ability to stand in neat ranks.

Everybody together, all 13 elements as the force has an option for the command element.

Naturally not used them as yet, but they are beautiful models, perhaps two bits of flash to remove on the whole lot, no mould lines on faces, really easy to clean up and paint up.
